Concrete patios, pool decks and outdoor living spaces

A patio or pool deck is where you actually spend time outside, so it has to look good and hold up to sun, water and freeze-thaw cycles. We build patios, covered-porch slabs, round and custom-shaped pads, walkways to the yard and decks around above-ground and in-ground pools.

Layout comes first. We talk through how you'll use the space, where furniture and a grill will go, how the patio connects to the door and the yard, and where water should drain. Then we form it, prepare the base and pour with the joint pattern planned around the shape rather than as an afterthought.

For finishes, a clean broom finish is durable and affordable. Stamped concrete can mimic stone, slate or brick in many patterns and colors, and decorative borders can dress up a plain slab. Around pools we pay special attention to texture for grip and to slope, so splash water drains away from the pool and the house.

Should I seal a stamped patio?

Yes. Sealer helps protect color and surface from water and deicers. Most stamped concrete should be resealed every few years.

Can you pour next to an existing pool?

Often, yes. We'll look at the pool type, coping and drainage and explain the options before we price it.
