Concrete contractor in Louisville

Louisville's older neighborhoods are full of concrete that has done its job for decades and is now ready to be replaced: driveways cracked by tree roots in the Highlands and Crescent Hill, sunken sidewalk panels in Clifton and Germantown, and entry steps that have settled away from the house. Newer suburbs have the opposite problem, with builder-grade slabs that cracked early over poorly compacted fill.

Much of the soil around Louisville is clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. Add freeze-thaw winters and road salt, and concrete takes a beating. The fix starts below the surface: removing soft soil, compacting a stone base and giving water somewhere to go. Then control joints and proper curing help the slab crack where we want it to, not across the middle.
